Careers at TCS
Thank you for your interest in the Treehouse Children's School!
Nestled in a grove of pines in beautiful Norwich VT, we are home to four early childhood classrooms that serve children ages six weeks to five years old. Our teachers work in collaborative teams to provide the highest quality early childhood education and care. We are inspired by the world-renowned schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy and all of our teaching practices, across age groups, are grounded in shared core beliefs. Above all else, we hold a high "image of the child": we respect the capabilities, curiosity, creativity and potential of each child and the hopes and dreams of each family.
Qualified candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and a minimum of one to two years of working with young children. You should be familiar with NAEYC standards, VT Early Learning Standards (VELS), and the Reggio Emilia approach. You are committed to growing and learning alongside children, colleagues and parents. Ideally, you have experience planning fascinating “provocations” and documenting children's thinking and learning. If not, we offer coaching to bring new hires up to speed.
TCS offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience, as well as an excellent benefits package and professional development opportunities. Benefits include health, dental and vision contributions, paid sick and personal days, discretionary budgets for classrooms, opportunities for continued learning and professional development, on-site coaching in Reggio-inspired practices, a collegial and open-minded faculty, and an engaged and loving community of families.
